Having spent many, many years wanting to be an artist, I finally took the plunge in 2022 and undertook a foundation diploma in Art and Design at Hereford College of Art. Since completing this I've been developing my own practice whilst also curating friends' exhibitions and researching into nineteenth century ceramics.

 

The work I'm displaying for Bromyard Art Walk follows from fulfilling my long-held ambition to spend a term studying at the Royal Drawing School in London.  I loved the challenges of close observation and producing something in real-time that the course presented, whether it be an old master in the National Gallery, a life model in a Shoreditch studio or a blustery view of the River Thames. I have come back rejuvenated with a real passion for monochrome and  sketching 'en plein air. ' I'm looking forward to creating a host of uncanny landscapes which are foreshadowed by my work on Bromyard Art Walk 2025.
