How to make your lantern

 

Your Lantern Kit contains:

• 1 rectangle of wired Vilene for the lantern

• 1 piece of wire for the handle

• 4 x glue dots

 

And you will also need:

Decorative materials: e.g. felt-tips, sharpies, paints, glitter, gel pens, shiny papers, stickers, ribbons, PVA glue, scissors, glue brushes, paint brushes.

 

To make your lantern:

Leave a 1cm space along the narrow edges of the Vilene and keeping the wire & the holes at the top draw, paint, print and/or collage your Christmas design on the dull side (front) of the Vilene. Put your name on the back of the Vilene (shiny side).

 

Wait until your lantern is dry. You can then put it together by gently bending the top wire round into a circle, then glue dot (or staple) the narrow edges together.

 

Thread each end of the piece of wire through the punched holes in the Vilene and twist the ends to make the handle
