Effie Williams is an award-winning milliner who specialises in fun and flirty, made to order headpieces with a vintage twist. Based deep in the heart of Herefordshire, she is continually inspired by the ancient landscape which surrounds her.

After originally planning to pursue either a career in fashion or costume design, Effie fell into the world of millinery by accident. During a gap year spent at Hereford College of Arts, Effie decided to enrol in a Millinery course hosted by Hereford and Ludlow College. During her enrolment, Effie was awarded the Commercial Appeal Award by the Worshipful Company of Feltmakers.

 

Following the completion of her studies, with the help and support of the Prince's Trust, Effie launched her own label in 2022. Since then she has been fortunate to win both numerous accolades including, HATalk Magazine International Millinery Competition, Lincoln International Millinery Competition and H.Art Emerging Artist Award.

In 2022, Effie gained membership to the Herefordshire Guild of Craftsmen, with whom she exhibits at a variety of events around the country. She also gives demonstrations on the methods and history of millinery to various groups including, craft groups, WIs, and Schools.

Effie produces two seasonal collections a year – Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter - as well as private bespoke commissions for a wide range of clients. All of Effie's hats and headpieces are lovingly hand-made by Effie herself in her Herefordshire studio, using both traditional and more contemporary millinery techniques.
