Andrew Mackay
I was born in Middlesex and now live and work in Leominster as a consultant in theoretical electromagnetic engineering. I have been interested in painting since university days and have produced a few acrylics, mostly impressionistic, during my early life. Completely self-taught, in the past couple
of years I have taken up the subject with the Herefordshire Village Art Club to gain experience in other painting mediums and to develop technical skills I did not have before. During this period I have become very fond of watercolours. Painting has been a welcome break from my professional career as a scientist and engineer and something I very much hope to spend more time on. Exactly where I draw my inspiration from I cannot say, though one thing that good scientists and artists have in common is careful observation of the world and a love of truth.
